Anna Grundström

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR + INDONESIAN ADOPTEE

Anna Taty Grundström is an Indonesian adoptee to Sweden who has lived in New York for three decades. She will help execute IAA’s mission and expand our program reach.

She has spent most of her career as a dancer and bodymind movement facilitator, guiding people in their bodies through movement exploration. She’s also a writer and independent researcher who received a Fulbright grant in 2024-2025 to conduct research for her project “The Historical Relevance of Intercountry Adoption from Indonesia (1970-1984).” The project explored the sociopolitical events that led to the rise of international adoption in the early years of Indonesia’s New Order era. As a writer and adoptee advocate, she hopes to provide a more nuanced understanding of adoption from sociopolitical and human rights perspectives, addressing an overlooked aspect of history.

She is a cat mom to two rescue cats who resides in Brooklyn.
